Games & Sports is an important component of holistic development in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bhubaneswar Region. The Region provides students opportunities to participate in sports at Vidyalaya, Cluster, Regional and National levels. Students selected at one level progress to the next level, with KVS teams also participating in national competitions such as SGFI and Subroto Cup.

Major Sports Activities in Bhubaneswar Region
Vidyalaya-level Sports Competitions – Regular intra-school competitions and selection of school teams.
Cluster-level Competitions – Talented students participate in cluster-level tournaments.
Regional Sports Meet – Selected students from different KVs compete at the regional level. The RO Bhubaneswar website also maintains a dedicated Regional Sports Meet gallery.
KVS National Sports Meet – Regional-level performers are selected for participation at the national level.
Participation in Khelo India and other national-level competitions – The Regional calendar specifically provides for participation in Khelo India and national games.
National Sports Day – Celebrated in August along with sports-related activities and the Regional Sports Meet.
Yoga and Fitness Activities – Integrated with the broader sports and physical-education programme.
