### Skill Hub Initiative

The **Skill Hub Initiative under KVS Regional Office Bhubaneswar** is an important step towards promoting **skill-based education, vocational learning and holistic development of students** in alignment with the objectives of the **National Education Policy (NEP) 2020**. The initiative aims to provide students with opportunities to acquire practical, employability-oriented and life skills alongside their academic education.

Under the initiative, students are encouraged to participate in **hands-on training, vocational courses, practical workshops, skill demonstrations and experiential learning activities**. The programmes focus on developing skills relevant to emerging areas as well as local needs, enabling students to connect classroom learning with real-life applications.

The Skill Hub also promotes **creativity, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, entrepreneurship and digital literacy** among students. By engaging in practical activities and projects, students gain confidence in applying their knowledge, exploring their interests and identifying potential career pathways.

KVS Regional Office Bhubaneswar encourages its Kendriya Vidyalayas to utilise available resources, infrastructure and community expertise for effective implementation of skill-oriented programmes. Collaboration with **local institutions, experts, training organisations and other stakeholders** is promoted wherever appropriate to provide students with meaningful exposure to vocational and emerging skills.

The initiative contributes towards the vision of **“Skill India” and NEP 2020**, wherein education is envisaged not merely as acquisition of academic knowledge but as a means of developing **competent, confident, creative and self-reliant individuals**. Through the Skill Hub Initiative, KVS RO Bhubaneswar is working towards equipping students with relevant skills for **future education, employment, entrepreneurship and responsible participation in society**.
